Pakistan-occupied Kashmir: The strike continued for the fourth day today in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan occupied Kashmir, over rising prices of electricity and flour. Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif took a big decision. Pak PM has announced a relief package of $68 million for Azad Jammu and Kashmir. However, PM Shahbaz Sharif had expressed concern about the protests taking place in PoK.

Shahbaz Sharif, while writing on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), had said that he is extremely concerned about the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He had said that unfortunately in situations of anarchy and disagreement there are always some people who rush to take political advantage. Whereas debate, discussion and peaceful protest are the beauty of democracy. During this, Sharif said that taking the law into one’s own hands and causing damage to government properties should not be tolerated at all.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan said, “I have spoken to the PM of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Along with this, I have directed all PML-N officials in Azad Kashmir to talk to the leaders of the Action Committee. I appeal to all parties to fulfill my demands.” I urge you to take action in a peaceful manner and hope that the matter will be resolved soon despite all the efforts of the opponents.”

Fierce clash broke out amid protests

Meanwhile, after violent clashes between security forces and protesters in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, the Pakistan government intensified efforts to control the situation. There were clashes between police and protesters last Saturday, in which one police officer died and more than 100 people were seriously injured. Many policemen are also included in these. At the same time, after talks between the protesters and the state government failed, PM Shahbaz Sharif had called a high-level meeting.

Regarding which demands are the protests taking place in POK?

People of Pakistan occupied Kashmir have been protesting on the streets for five days against the increased prices of flour and electricity and rising inflation. In fact, under the leadership of Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee, a long march was taken out in Muzaffarabad, the capital of PoK. People of JAAC Core Committee say that after no solution was found in the talks, the protesters had decided to march towards Muzaffarabad.
